What file format does Zoom save recordings in?

Zoom saves local recordings as MP4 (video with audio), M4A (audio only), and TXT (Zoom's own chat transcript). For transcription, upload the MP4 or M4A file. Cloud recordings can be downloaded from the Zoom portal as MP4.

Can it identify who is speaking in the Zoom recording?

Yes. Speaker diarization automatically detects and labels each unique voice in the recording. For a typical Zoom call with 2–6 participants, speakers are labeled as Speaker 1, Speaker 2, etc. throughout the transcript.

Can I transcribe a Google Meet or Teams recording?

Is there a time or file size limit?
