Why Choose ForgeFile for HEIC to JPG Conversion?
iPhone and iPad photos are saved as HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) - a format that most Windows PCs, older Android phones, and many websites don't support natively. ForgeFile converts HEIC and HEIF files to universally compatible JPG in seconds, with full visual quality preserved - no visible difference from the original.
Why Do You Need HEIC to JPG Conversion?
- Windows compatibility - HEIC photos taken on iPhone often can't be opened on Windows without installing a paid codec. JPG works everywhere instantly.
- Website uploads - Most websites (forms, profiles, eCommerce platforms) don't accept HEIC - they require JPG or PNG.
- Sharing with non-Apple users - JPG is the universal standard - any device, any platform, any software opens it.
- Social media - Facebook, Instagram (via browser), and Twitter require JPG or PNG for direct upload from a computer.
- Photo editing software - Many image editors (especially older versions) don't support HEIC. JPG works in all of them.
Why Choose ForgeFile for HEIC to JPG?
- No software installation - No Apple software, no Windows codecs - convert directly in your browser.
- Quality preserved - HEIC photos converted to JPG at 95% quality by default - visually identical to the original.
- Bulk conversion - Upload an entire folder of HEIC photos as a ZIP and download all JPGs in one click.
- EXIF metadata preserved - GPS location, date taken, and camera settings transferred to the output JPG.
- Secure & private - All photos encrypted and permanently deleted after conversion.
HEIC to JPG Conversion FAQ
What is a HEIC file?
HEIC (High Efficiency Image Container) is Apple's photo format, used by iPhone (from iPhone 7 onwards) and iPad by default since iOS 11. It uses the HEIF (High Efficiency Image Format) standard and typically stores photos at about half the file size of equivalent-quality JPG - but it's not natively supported on Windows or many non-Apple platforms.
Does HEIC to JPG conversion reduce quality?
Conversion from HEIC to JPG involves re-encoding to the JPG format, which is inherently lossy. At 95% quality (our default setting), the visual difference from the original is imperceptible. At 85–90% quality, file sizes are smaller with no meaningful quality difference for on-screen viewing.
Can I convert multiple HEIC files at once?
Yes. Upload all your HEIC photos in a ZIP archive (or select multiple files) and download all converted JPGs as a ZIP. No per-file limit within batch jobs.
Is EXIF data (date, location, camera) preserved?
Yes. EXIF metadata - including date and time taken, GPS coordinates, camera model, and exposure settings - is transferred from the HEIC file to the output JPG.
Are my iPhone photos kept private?
Yes. All uploaded files are encrypted in transit and at rest and permanently deleted immediately after you download the converted JPGs. No photos are stored or used for any purpose.
Can I convert HEIF files too?
Yes. HEIF and HEIC are essentially the same format - both file extensions are supported.
